Katerina was born and raised in Skopje, North Macedonia. In 2000 she came to Romania on a study scholarship. After two years she had fallen in love with the country and its people. She stayed, and made Bucharest home.
She built her career on both sides of the table: first in agencies, then five years on the Telekom Romania brand team, where her campaigns won Gold at Effie Awards Europe. In January 2020 she joined BCR, where she now leads the brand strategy of BCR and George, The First Intelligent Banking.
But behind the campaigns was another story, one she kept hidden for years under smiles, work and loose clothes. It began with a night she woke up breathless at 150 kg and decided to choose life. From 150 kg to 64, and from hiding to self-acceptance, she has since told that story on stage at I Love Failure and on some of Romania’s best-known podcasts.
Now she has written it all down.
